The Center for Businesses in Transition (CBIT) addresses the loss of area businesses by providing matchmaking services with potential buyers, access to planning tools and connection with existing services. CBIT has focused heavily on preparing business owners for succession; in 2021 we are turning the tables by employing the same robust, community-led and collaboratively focused efforts toward supporting aspiring entrepreneurs.

CBIT serves:

14 counties in northern New York State: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Oswego, Saratoga, St. Lawrence, Warren, and Washington Counties.
